Hope For Today

Dear Friends, Fluff's first set of bunnies Josh's rabbit, Fluffzilla (or Fluff as I prefer to call her!) had some baby bunnies last week. This is her second lot of babies.  Just before she was due to give birth she pulled out a lot of her fur.  I've learnt that she does this for two reasons, firstly to use her fur to make a nest so that her babies are safe, comfortable and warm, and secondly, the fur she pulls out is from her tummy so that it is easier for her babies to feed from her.  So she cares and provides nourishment for them. I am fascinated by this.  This mummy rabbit does not behave in this way because of evolution or because of 'mother nature' but because this is the way God has created her.  God has given her the instinct to care, protect and provide for her young.  She is living out God's purpose for her. Dear Friends, Do you know that God considers you his prized possession? Maybe you find that hard to believe. You may think that because of what you've done or what's been done to you that you are not special, that you are not worth much. You may have a negative self-image and you may compare yourself with others and believe they are so much better than you. But the truth is that you are so much more than what you think you are. How do I know that? Because that's what the Bible tells me and if I want to know the truth about God and myself I go to the Bible. It's there I learn that being prized by God means that I am treasured, valued, cherished and much loved by him. At the moment I'm reading the book of James, and rather than rush through it I'm taking my time so that I can really feed on it and digest it. Dear Friends, Mother's Day will soon be upon us so I want to concentrate on Mothers in this post.  Mothers have such a significant role in the family and we should never underestimate the value and influence of mothers.  God knows how important the family is and he may perhaps have placed another woman in your life to be a "mother" to you, such as an older sister, an aunt, a grandmother, or someone in your church. My Mum will never be famous, she will never have her name in a "Who's Who" book, although, more significantly, her name is in God's Book of Life, just as all those who have accepted Christ as their Saviour are named in his book.  " They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life."
