Which Part of The Body Are You?

Image
Dear Friends, Which Part of The Body Are You? I love how Paul explains the body of Christ in  1 Corinthians 12  using the example of the human body. He so clearly teaches how just as God has created the human body and positioned each part with a specific function, so God does the same with the body of Christ. I like how The Message paraphrases it as it gives me such a clear image as I read it: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you’re still one body. It’s exactly the same with Christ. By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. .. I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less.

Praying Psalm 139

Dear Friends, Praying Psalm 139 September/October can be difficult months for many of us. It often represents change or a new season in our lives. For some of us it can be difficult to move from the freedom of the summer break back to the routine and structure of work. It may be because our children are starting school for the first time, or going into a new academic year, moving on to a new school, studying at college or going off to university for the first time. As hard as it is for our children to cope with, it is also hard for us as their parents or grandparents. Or perhaps you are in a new season for some other reason. At each stage of my children's lives, and as they grow up, I have been learning to let them go, little by little. But it's not easy, is it? Whilst our children are young and at home, we can train them, care for them, protect them, watch over them. But there comes a time when they leave home, either to attend school for the day or leave for weeks

Book Review: The Father's Kiss by Tracy Williamson

Dear Friends, In today’s world, so many of us have not known, for one reason or another, what it means to have the love of an earthly father. When this is the case, it then makes it very difficult to relate to God as a loving Heavenly Father. Tracy addresses this in her book, “The Father’s Kiss - Living in the Reality of God's Love”. Tracy knows from personal experience what it is like to be hurt by a Father and over the years God has been taking her on a journey to knowing she is his beloved daughter and teaching her to really know him as Father. She is passionate for everyone to experience the joy of knowing they are truly loved by God who longs to be a Father to them. Her heart is for God to draw us all into a deeper relationship with him as Father, and for all to receive comfort and healing from past hurts. In her first two chapters , T racy honestly and openly shares her testimony about a difficult time in her life when she realised God was pursuing her, even
